About Monty
Monty Kentell is a 25 year old British-Caribbean actor and musician based in East London. He is currently studying Level 6 Acting and Performance (BA Hons) at LMA London and will be graduating in 2026. He aims to conquer the world of acting and music through the storytelling of his work. Whether it is self-written material that displays his skills as an actor or the lyrics of his songs which create an authentic contention to the listener, Monty is on a mission to make a name for himself as a black actor and artist.
His passion for performing began in his childhood as Monty took part in a number of school plays and talent shows. His work during his childhood years includes Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Salty in Teechers, and Judas in Easter Story. Since the age of 16, he has been releasing music as an independent artist performing his songs in venues such as The White Room.
After finishing college in 2019, he was a peer facilitator at Immediate Theatre where he helped to compose weekly free drama sessions for children and young adults across London. He has won awards for his work at Immediate Theatre, including a Hackney Youth Award and a Gary Francis Achievement Award.
Monty has created a presence for himself online, utilising social media to showcase his acting material, music and create content involving pop culture. His content has led to him being featured on Good Morning Britain and being interviewed by Attitude Magazine. In 2025 he was an extra in the music video for 'Church' by popstar JADE.
As a black and queer actor and musician, he aims to be innovative with his work in the film, TV, theatre and music industries and showcase his talent and authenticity in all of his projects.
